Art meets Maths - Addison Road
Before the half term holidays we spent a week looking at the connections between maths and art.
Each class was split into groups and tasked with designing and producing a board game that consolidated the players' mathematical skills.
New slap boards at Addison Road
In the 1st week of October 2015 Year 5 worked with local artist and parent Sean Orr and local graffiti artist Ruben Murphy to design, paint and spray the slap boards in the Addison Road playground.
Year 2 have been working with local artist Sean Orr to create murals for the Maynard Road playground.
1st all the children in Year 2 planned the mural. In the 2nd half of the Autumn term the children will be completing the murals.
The whole school celebrated Shakespeare Week and we based our learning about the amazing author by focusing on A Midsummer Night's Dream.

In Reception the children wrote with feather quills and some teachers acted out the play in the playground.
Year 4 built pyramids out of clay - starting from making individual bricks and working together to build their structure.
Lego Club
Miss Wilson and Miss Bowell ran our school's 1st Lego club during the Spring term. It was a very popular after school club and was open to Year 1 children. The club built models by following instructions as well as having the opportunity to build their own creations using lego.
